Recipe – Natural Sunscreen Oil

Sunscreen Oil

This sunscreen oil is thick, rich and wonderful for your skin.  Most sunscreen oils in the marketplace are made with mineral oil (derived from petroleum), artificial scents and other ingredients harmful to your health.

The good new is, there are natural ingredients whose properties are such that they offer natural protection from the sun.

Raspberry seed oil contains an estimated 30-50 SPF.

Carrot seed oil is estimated to have SPF levels of 30.

Wheat germ oil is estimated to possess a natural SPF of 20.

If you are looking for something more powerful and effective, try the Sunscreen Balm recipe which uses the natural mineral zinc oxide plus essential oils offer natural sunscreen protection as well.

This is a nice oil to use when you’re going to be in the sun and want an oil instead of a balm.   You can find these supplies at well-stocked natural food stores or from my friends at From Nature With Love   You can delete any ingredients that are difficult to find, but try to stick with the ingredients that offer the most protection.

¼ cup Jojoba Oil

¼ cup Wheat Germ Oil

1 tsp Vitamin E (use capsules if desired)

1 ½ tsp Carrot Oil

1 tbsp. Raspberry Seed Oil

2 drops Lavender

1 drop Frankincense

1 drop Myrrh

Mix all ingredients in a glass bowl.  Store in a glass container for up to 6 months.  This recipe makes just over 4 oz.
