Crossing one off the Bucket List – Trekking the Himalayas

Crossing one off the Bucket List – Trekking the Himalayas

For a long time now, I’ve wanted to go to Everest.  Not actually climb the darn thing (I’m not crazy), but see it in person.  The highest peak I’ve ever seen is Mount Kilimanjaro (haven’t climbed it either but it’s on the list), and it was pretty impressive at 19,000 feet.  Everest is another 10,000 feet high!  That’s almost 2 miles!  But it was one of those places that I NEVER thought I’d see in person.

But for Christmas my husband gave me “permission” to live out this dream.  I woke up to this:

Everest Christmas

It’s hard to tell from the picture, but it’s my hiking poles leaned up against our (fake) fireplace with Everest on the TV above it.  And the best part was an adorable little Yeti posed between the poles (yes, I know it’s the Abominable Snowman, but work with me here).  It was my husband’s way of saying, “I want you to leave.”  Well, maybe not that exactly, but his way of saying he wanted me to finally cross this item off my dream list and make it a reality.  So I’m doing it!

Yeti I’m going with a group through REI. (Click on the link if you’re curious about it) It’s a long trip and I realize leaving my business for 3 weeks borders on being irresponsible.  But I just couldn’t pass it up.

While the store is in good hands with my sister and the (other) Kim, I don’t have anyone to ship orders for me while I’m gone.  So, to make it up to you, I’m offering FREE Shipping with promo code YETI2015 for orders thru April 26th.

All orders received before Thursday, April 2 will ship before I leave.

For orders received after April 2, they will still ship free with the promo code but after I get back on April 27th.

Thanks for your support for the past several years and I promise to post pictures once I get back!

What a wonderful opportunity! I think it would be irresponsible to NOT take this chance to cross something off your bucket list!
